Registrar Name: Network Solutions Reviewer Name: Bilbao Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 5 Comments: People love to trash Network Solutions because they used to be the monopoly, but I've been amazed at how the sleeping giant has awakened in the last couple of years. They answer the phone in a heartbeat, they've made transfers easy as pie, they introduced what I think is the best account management out there, with DNS management and the ability to manage permissions of who can access your account (employees come and go and you don't want them messing with your domain name). Plus I just know they're going to be around. A domain name is too important. Registrar Name: Network Solutions Reviewer Name: Jeffy Rating: (1 worst - 5 best) 5 Comments: I`ve used Netsol for years now, and haven`t had problems for quite a while. In the beginning, their interface was confusing since each domain had a different user id tied to it, and I always forgot which id was for which of my domains. Since then, they`ve enabled users to group all of their domains and manage them from one simple interface. Their record update procedures in the beginning were horrible, as you had to go about signing a form and mailing it to them in order for them to make any major changes. Making changes to records is much more hassle free now that you can do everything online. Unfortunately, they seem to be one of the most expensive companies out there, but their reliability is hard to beat. My only complaint at this time is that many of their customer service people that I have spoken with are hard to understand over the phone - their English is usually somewhat broken. Not sure if they`re sourcing out to other countries or what...Other than that, I can`t really complain (except for their prices, but you get what you pay for). For a $20 billion company (I believe that`s what Verisign paid) they behave like a high school start up. We also used Verisign for certificates. We have moved away from both and will not go back. Their service was among the worst I have ever experienced. Making changes was nearly impossible. I have spent hours on the phone and using e-mail trying to make a single change. This has happened several times. When we finally moved all our domains away from Network solutions it literally took weeks. They would not release domains properly. It is MUCH easier to manage both domains and certificates now that we no longer do business with Network Solutions! I used to work for them and I personally know the inside sleaze of this operation. Changes take forever, customer service is outsourced to 3rd world countries, domain nmaes are held "hostage" and hardly allowed to be transferred. I`ve actually seen business `s falter because the online change process was an absolute debacle. Do yourself a BIG favor - steer clear of this LEMON.
